I was not very good at getting our Christmas cards out this year. I made them and only sent out a handful before Christmas-the rest are still in a box in my office and will probably never make it to their intended recipients. Life just gets busy some times and there is not enough of me to go around. Nevertheless, it does not take away how important our friends and family are to us. We value their presence in our lives and try our best to keep everyone updated on our growing family in the hopes that we might be of some encouragement to you and your family. So for those of you who are close friends and family and did not get a Christmas card, it's totally my fault and totally not because you got missed or forgotten. Hopefully, you can get caught up here on our crazy lives here...so here is my feeble attempt to update you all on our growing family… |
This was the photo I used from our Christmas card, no, not very Christmassy but hopefully heartwarming as you endure the winter months-which apparently are trying to continue by evidence of the snow we had covering the ground this morning... Yes I said this morning, a couple days into spring, today, March 22.. Caleb has been blessed to be working for a Christian boss for a little over a year now and though it has been slow at times, God has seen us through it all. Caleb’s job benefits have been slowly adding up (yay for health insurance) and he has been able to utilize more of his skills than ever, managing a team of laborers and contractors. There isn’t a day that goes by when he doesn’t come home more excited than the last to one day build a home of our own. In fact to be quite honest he’s getting downright anxious about it. I am so grateful to be married to a man who desires and finds fulfillment in providing for his family, both for our needs right now and the dreams for the future. The boys are growing like weeds one birthday after another, Joseph celebrated 6 years in November, Jacob turned 2 last Monday and Jesse can not wait to be 5 in June, because of course that means he can get his booster shots and go to school. They are three peas in a pod, rough and tumble little boys that continue to fill our hearts with joy amidst the craziness. Adding soon to these boys will be a little girl! We were so surprised and even a little disappointed at first to find that this little one I’m carrying will be the first girl in four generations (straight back through Caleb). Disappointed, you might ask-our boys are such a blessing, of course I would want another, but I am very excited to meet our daughter, Caleb is thrilled and of course there is the excitement of such a new adventure. Before we even knew this baby was a little girl Caleb said it we ought to name her Grace, as in a free gift from God-and she is. What a blessing God has chosen to give to our family. I am 38 weeks today and I cannot wait to introduce you to her sometime in the next two weeks. I have been busy preparing for her arrival, sewing, cooking, cleaning-nesting to be sure! That pretty much gets you up to date. I’ll be catching you up with some of my little projects while we wait for the arrival of our sweet Grace, so stay tuned enjoy and may you be encouraged by those you love today!
