This is a must know in our family. The majority of our Friday nights are spent at Mom and Dad's indulging in slice after slice of the best homemade pizza you will ever taste. Now once I give you the recipe you'll be off and running but let me just encourage you that if it doesn't turn out the first time to try again.

I was given the recipe when we got married but it took me the first three years to get it right enough so that I just intuitively know how the dough should feel and can whip up a batch of dough in my sleep. And yet no matter what I do, Caleb's mom's still turns out better. I don't know what she does different but pizza at Caleb's mom's house is always the best.

Basic Pizza Dough Recipe

3 cups flour

1 cup warm water

1 packet of yeast ( = to 2 and 1/4 Tsp)

2 Tbsp oil

1 Tsp sugar

1 Tsp Salt

cornmeal

Add yeast to the one cup of warm water and stir to dissolve and activate and then add the oil. In large mixing bowl combine flour, salt, and sugar. Add the water yeast and oil to the flour salt and sugar and knead until combined and dough is soft and elastic. Place in a warm place to rise at least 30 minutes.

Remove dough and roll out on a well floured surface. Sprinkle cornmeal on pizza pans before laying the dough on top.
