What's Cookin'? - Pizza Rolls

Here is an easy family pleasing meal you can put together ahead of time and freeze using pizza dough. If you don't have your own pizza dough recipe I have shared our family recipe in my last post. So go back to that post, or use your own recipe to whip up yourself a batch of dough and meet us back here to make some pizza rolls!

So obviously after you've made your dough and let it rise, you will roll it out. Don't roll it out too thin or it will be difficult to roll up. It's best to roll an oblong shape. When your dough is rolled out top with whatever you desire-seriously! The first time I made these I did ham and cheese with an al fredo sauce as well as cheese and pepperoni with traditional pizza sauce.

Once you've added your toppings, roll the whole thing up carefully and slice with a sharp knife. Place into a greased baking dish. They do not need to be crammed in the dish either, a little space is good a the dough will expand a bit when cooked right away (they don't seem to expand much after being frozen).

Now if you want to freeze to enjoy later be sure to freeze the individual slices on a sheet pan till frozen to keep them from sticking together when placed in ziploc bags. You will either need to set out pizza rolls in pan 30-45 min before cooking or increase your cooking time. I have always set them out  before hand so I'm not sure how much you would increase the cooking time but I would suggest checking after 20 min and eyeballing it from there till the cheese is nice and bubbly.

If you try this and any new toppings I'd love to hear your combinations!
